Mark Sedgwick – 9th June 2026

Thankfully it was cooler today and it was back to normal so Mark sang to a full house.

Mark and his lively summer shirt provided great songs to entertain us.

Julie’s Fit for Life Workshops continue to be popular. We are delighted both workshops are running at full capacity. Julie has noticed a great deal of improvement in the members taking part.

Herd Mentality continues to provide an opportunity for fun and discussing the answers chosen.

The room and the dance floor were packed today. Such a great atmosphere.

We celebrated Volunteers week which was officially last week on a non group week. All volunteers received a certificate and a round of applause from the group. Our volunteers are all wonderful people who make the group such a welcoming and friendly place to attend. The group would not be as successful as it is without them. Thank you team!

Getting to know Team Member Gyda

Gyda was born and bred in Liverpool although her accent has long gone. She came to London to train as a teacher and has lived here ever since. She taught for over forty years, became a Special Educational Needs Coordinator and was part of senior management.

Her passions are belly dancing which she took up more than 25 years ago, yoga also started around the same time and is done as daily practice and more recently chi ball. She has been a volunteer Nordic Walking leader for 8 years, leading groups of all ages.

In addition, she also fits in crafting, reading, going to the theatre and spending time with her grandchildren. She loves volunteering at Reflections which she says is an amazing experience, has enriched her life and it’s wonderful to be able to contribute to this brilliant group.

The Reflections Friendship Group is next at Shrewsbury House on 23rd June 2026 at 1pm when Tilly Pantlin, a new singer to the group will perform for us.

Please note: in our uploaded photos we blur the faces of all group members. You do see the faces of our wonderful volunteers.
